Art Call - Dilemmas of Humanity

Call for Art

In October of 2023, leaders from people’s organizations worldwide will convene in Johannesburg, South Africa for the III International Dilemmas of Humanity Conference to discuss and debate the construction of socialism in their regions and across the world. 

As part of this historic conference, we invite artists and cultural workers internationally to submit art posters that connect with the central themes of the discussion through the Dilemmas of Humanity Conference. The artworks will be presented on our website and a select number of the pieces will be displayed at the conference in Johannesburg. 

The overall theme of the conference is dialogues toward socialism. In their works, artists should envision a path forward, inspiring hope and confidence in people’s struggles toward a socialist future.

  4. Immigration: Freedom to stay, freedom to move
  5. Gender Equality
  6. LGBTQI+: Struggles Against Patriarchy
  7. Racial Justice
  8. Labor Without Exploitation 
  9. Education for Emancipation
  10. Science and Technology for the Common Good
  11. Culture and Art: Dimensions of Life and Struggle
  12. Communication: Visions and Strategies for Revolution

Deadline for submission: September 22

Submission Requirements: 

  • Must be sized A2 (420 x 594 mm,  42 x 59.4 cm, 16.5 x 23.4 inches)
  • Must be 300 DPI
  • Must be submitted as a full-resolution PDF
  • By submitting artwork to this call, you give permission to Dilemmas of Humanity and the International Peoples’ Assembly to reproduce the works in print and electronically.
